General Stuff
\n<\/strong>What to say.\u00a0 It has been a while since I have updated you guys, been really busy with the transition to Tucson, AZ.\u00a0 AZ is nice, and right now, cool.\u00a0 They say it will get hotter here in a bit.\u00a0 We will see how good things are then.<\/p>\n

Working on a few projects but just finally got everything setup at home two days ago.\u00a0 I visited a hackerspace here but was throughly turned off.\u00a0 More arts and crafts then hacks and live a little.\u00a0 Still I may go back.\u00a0 Anymore some of them I find are more of a utility and not a commune.<\/p>\n

Mount Lemmon
\n<\/strong>We finally drove up the mountain right near us.\u00a0 Something like 9000 feet.\u00a0 We liked the sights and hopefully we will get some pictures up soon.\u00a0 It was really cool and we were looking forward to eating once we got to the top of the mountain.<\/p>\n

We looked at all three restaurants and a fudge maker too.\u00a0 I was really surprised to see so much stuff up there.\u00a0 There is a very small town at the top.\u00a0 Summerhaven<\/a> is the name of it and it is pretty cool.\u00a0 I suppose they call it that because it stays cool during the summer there.<\/p>\n

We ate at the Sawmill restaurant there and it was very good.\u00a0 They were turning guests away though because they had some special valentines day dinner scheduled.\u00a0 I just did not know what to think when I saw someone who biked all the way up the mountain get turned away because they were closing early to get ready.\u00a0 Hours and hours of biking and you get to the top and get turned away.\u00a0 I assume he went somewhere else but it seemed like Sawmill was the only restaurant with variety.\u00a0 It seemed like the other restaurant would only have cookies and pizza.\u00a0 They turned away many other guests too.<\/p>\n

I am going to do this:\u00a0 http:\/\/skycenter.arizona.edu\/programs\/public\/skynights<\/a>\u00a0 I have wanted to do something like that since Hawaii.\u00a0 The observatory in Hawaii was on the big island and I do not even know if I could visit it.\u00a0 I really do want to.<\/p>\n

pfSense Firewall<\/strong><\/p>\n

The QoS burst setting is broken in pfSense.\u00a0 https:\/\/redmine.pfsense.org\/issues\/3933\u00a0 I really needed this feature too so it sucks.\u00a0 We are on a BW limited line at work and this would really help with large downloads.\u00a0 I think I may have to put another\/different router in the mix.<\/p>\n

Centurylink
\n<\/strong>Centurylink is the perfect example of a bureaucracy.\u00a0 I recently had the pleasure of doing business with them and they took days to weeks to respond to emails.\u00a0 They never pick up the phone.\u00a0 Ever.\u00a0 Everything with them was slow and they had steps that they had to go through to slow things down more.\u00a0 They would ask for information, and then act on it months later.\u00a0 All these milestones that mean nothing.<\/p>\n

Once our connection was up, it immediately went down.\u00a0 They had some bad copper somewhere.\u00a0 The funny part is, they sent me an email telling me it was messed up (Automation).\u00a0 They would only act on it until I confirmed that yes, things do not work.<\/p>\n

I did learn for any long runs on a T1<\/a> from demarc to router you should use\u00a0Premises Cable.\u00a0 See my wiki and google for more info.\u00a0 It is disputed what a ‘long’ run is.\u00a0 It was not applicable to my situation.<\/p>\n

Wireless Signal

\nThat link above has one of the best representations that I have seen of wireless signal.\u00a0 That it is just like a lightsource, with ‘beams’ that can be blocked.<\/p>\n

Media Consumption
\n<\/strong>Jupiter Ascending – I think that it was good.\u00a0 I would have change some things, but I think the ratings it is getting are not justified.\u00a0 I think the entire cleaning toilets thing was a bad idea.\u00a0 The best part of the sound track was in the credits, they should have moved that forward.\u00a0 It felt like some of the acting was rushed.\u00a0 It reminded me of dune though, with how the universe is ran.<\/p>\n
