= Research =

Open research questions and things to verify. Each entry has a '''Primer'''
(the operator's own words, verbatim, unedited) and an '''Interpretation'''
(a separate reading of what it means) -- kept structurally distinct so any
reader, human or AI, never mistakes one for the other.

== Format ==

Each entry is a level-2 heading with the date captured, followed by labeled
subsections:

* '''Primer''' -- the operator's original words, verbatim. Never edited,
  never cleaned up, never paraphrased.
* '''Interpretation''' -- a separate reading of what the primer means,
  written afterward, clearly marked as interpretation rather than fact.
* '''Findings''' -- added later, once research actually happens. Not
  folded into the primer or interpretation.

== Rubin Observatory fiber-to-camera setup, and spy-satellite data restrictions (2026-10-29) ==

=== Primer ===

understand the fiber to camera setup of the rubin telescope - we want glass/material tubes going direct into fiber, and then cut off different items - check - also search if data has been publicly posted yet as the us government filters out spy sattalite data - holding back global astronomy

=== Interpretation ===

Two separate research threads bundled into one note:

# How the Vera C. Rubin Observatory actually feeds light from its optics
  into its camera/sensor -- specifically whether glass or other
  solid-material light-guide tubes run directly into fiber (rather than a
  free-space optical path), and how different wavelength bands or channels
  get split off ("cut off different items") along that path. To be checked
  against the observatory's own published instrument documentation, not
  assumed.
# Whether Rubin's publicly released survey data has been delayed,
  filtered, or withheld because of overlap with classified US
  spy-satellite capabilities or data, and whether that is plausibly
  slowing global astronomy more broadly. Not yet researched; no claim here
  should be read as confirmed either way.

=== Findings ===

Not yet researched.
